How do you ensure that each blepharoplasty is successful?
“The only way to ensure a high success rate is to listen to what the patients want. You need to ensure that their expectations are totally aligned with what you can offer.” Dr Koutroumanos goes on to say, “that requires honesty from the patient, but it also requires huge honesty from your surgeon about what they can offer.”

Dr Koutroumanos’ first consultation for blepharoplasty is extremely thorough and includes reviewing past photos, taking very precise measurements under high magnification, performing a full eye examination, and listening intently to your specific concerns. But the consultation doesn’t end at the first visit.
“I will always recommend another conversation prior to arranging the operation. This can either be virtually or in person. I don’t tend to plan any surgery unless we’ve had at least two opportunities to answer questions and align our expectations.”

How likely is it that you need more than one blepharoplasty operation to achieve the desired look?
It is uncommon for patients to need more than one eyelid lift surgery, or blepharoplasty, to achieve their desired results.
Although some people may desire further refinements, Dr. Koutroumanos has a wealth of experience and knowledge in different blepharoplasty techniques which allows him to produce natural-looking results in a single procedure. In rare cases, he may perform a revision surgery once a year for his own patients, or up to once a month for patients who were referred to him after having their surgery performed elsewhere.
